It’s done. After overthinking it for ages, I have finally changed my Substack name. No more second-guessing myself or waiting for permission to make a change.
Introducing a new name 🥁🥁🥁
Creative Wanderlust
The essence of my Substack vision and values remains unchanged. I still believe that art can unlock hidden treasures, deliver happy surprises, and awaken the magic of our inner creativity.
Though institutively, I knew I wanted to highlight the word CREATIVE.
And add another word that embodies a sense of adventure to new places, whether through travel or not, reflecting the pursuit of exploration fueled by curiosity.
Hence, WANDERLUST.
The creative process:
Changing a name or making any sort of change can be a simple or as complicated as you want it to be. You can ask for feedback, get advice but in my experience, it just confused me and made me doubt myself even more.
I shared the new name on Notes earlier today, and at least four people had the same question:
I am still stuck about changing my name.....
I am trying to decide on a new name instead of being just my name…
I have been thinking (overthinking) about changing my name too... maybe one day of these days
It’s so easy to get stuck on finding the perfect name. It doesn’t have to be an original or perfect but it needs to feel just right for you. And hopefully it says what it is with just a glance.
Though you probably already know what’s the new name! Don’t be afraid to experiment and just give it a go.
Prompt:
What helped me was to write down all the names on paper and visually see them.
I then doodled and painted around all the names, noticing how I felt about each one. Which ones could I connect to or inspired me, and which ones didn’t. I needed to visualise it and circle back again and again.
And once I started painting and designing around the names onto Canva app. I spotted a couple of names that kept showing up and Wanderlust kept calling out for me.
In fact it was there the whole time.
You really can’t go wrong with changing your Substack name. And if you’re reading this and decide to change your name or update your branding — keep me posted so I can celebrate with you!
Creative Wanderlust will continue to be a space dedicated to embracing the joy of happy mistakes.
focus more on the creative process rather than the outcome.

Weekend snapshots:
From a day trip to Callantsoog in North Holland where we run into a flower fields. It’s summer here but the water temperature is freezing but oh so refreshing afterwards.
Spot the jellyfish and can you see how it inspired me with the new branding look!

You will be given a photo resource, and a flower prompt so that you can follow along with me. Will be painting a roses and as always, you can decide to paint your own flower from your garden.
I should mention, that I’m more of an abstract and intuitive artist, so I don’t do too well with restriction or realist art making. This is great for you because it will allow you space to express yourself and infuse your own creative flair.
These will be easy peasy prompts, so you can do them in a short time, and anyone can join in—no art skills needed.
And if you don’t feel like painting, you can always doodle or journal about it.
It’s all about being inspired by summer flowers and enjoying the process.
There are no rules.
