Welcome back to Day 2 of the Flower Rose Challenge weekend! This is a wonderful chance to let your creativity flow—it’s designed to be easygoing and perfect for everyone.
How did yesterday go? If you missed it, no worries—check out Day 1 here. The challenge is open all week for you to join whenever you're ready.
Weekends are busy enough for us, so I thought it would be lovely to do something light that doesn’t take too much of your time but it's still enjoyable. Today, we'll be drawing and painting a field of roses simply and intuitively. So grab your paints and let’s create some beautiful bright roses. 🌹
Day 2: ROSE
As we covered yesterday, painting roses might seem tricky with so many petals, but it doesn’t have to be. After a few tries, you'll realise it’s easier than you probably imagined and super fun!
The idea of this challenge is to create an impression of a rose, making the process easy, relaxing, and spontaneous. The intention isn’t to create a perfect rose. We are playing loose with paint, releasing perfectionism and trusting our intuition. So try out different colours, and try and paint more loosely.
What you need:
Watercolour paint
Sketchbook or watercolour paper
Pen marker (black)
Tissue (napkin)
Two water jugs
What to expect:
Learn how to paint with ease
Find inspiration from references
Have fun painting loosely
What you will get:
A 2-day flower painting video series, designed to be easy to follow
The option to leave comments, ask questions, interact with others, and share your art with us (optional)
Video 1: Art Supplies
Video 2: Reference & Sketchbook
Video 3: Let’s paint roses (part I)
Video 4: Let’s paint roses (part II)
Remember, perfection doesn't exist in nature or art—especially true for painting roses.
Let me know if you found this inspiring and gave it a go! Thanks for being here 🌹
